DPS Students for Climate Action

Climate change impacts you no matter who you are. However, it has a disproportionate effect on the future generations — our generation.

Right now, DPS (Denver Public Schools) has no plan to address climate change and is not required to follow the City of Denver or Colorado’s climate goals.

We, the students, believe that DPS needs to pass resilient policy change to ensure the wellbeing of our generation. We can address and change it, but those changes need to happen now, with the passing of our policy.

To combat the disproportionate effects of climate change on marginalized communities, a group of over a dozen students has been working since February of 2021 to pass our sustainability policy by the end of the 2021 — 2022 school year.
